"Former Indianapolis Colts offensive line coach Pete Metzelaars was hired by the Buffalo Bills as the team's tight ends coach Tuesday. Metzelaars, let go by the Colts last month, was asked about quarterback Peyton Manning during his introductory news conference.

When asked if he ever imagined the loss of Manning would result in the season the Colts had, Metzelaars said: "We talked about it a little bit, yeah. We were so dependent on him and what he did. The whole offensive structure was built upon what he could do and how he did it. The way his injury took place, there was always kind of the thought that 'Well, he could come back, he might come back, maybe the recovery time is going to be x.'"
