"Anthony Gonzalez's third season with the Indianapolis Colts is over. The team placed their veteran receiver on the season-ending injured reserve list.

Gonzalez, a 2007 first-round draft pick, hasn't played since spraining a ligament in his right knee in the Sept. 13 season opener.

"Anthony has been diligent in the rehabilitation of his knee, but it has not progressed to the point that it will allow him to return to the field this season,'' team president Bill Polian said today in a release. "We look forward to his healthy return next season.''"
