Colorado's hopes for a hallmark season took a huge hit Monday afternoon.

As ESPN first reported, Spencer Dinwiddie has torn his left ACL, and so surgery is scheduled for Tuesday. The procedure will end Dinwiddie's junior season. He averaged 14.7 points, 3.8 assists and 3.1 rebounds this year for the 14-3 Buffaloes, who are 3-1 in the Pac-12 and face UCLA on Thursday.

Colorado is coming off a 71-54 loss at Washington on Sunday, where Dinwiddie suffered the injury. At the time of the incident CU was up 29-26. Askia Booker, arguably Colorado's second-best player, was held scoreless without Dinwiddie on the court.
