"When forward Colin Wilson comes to Boston, there's a little extra pep in his step. It was here where Wilson had some of his greatest successes.
First with Boston University, where he played two seasons and won the 2009 national championship, and then two years ago with Nashville where he scored his first NHL goal in his fifth game.
"Winning a national championship here gives you a little mojo and swagger," Wilson joked.
In 2009, Wilson and fellow Predator Brandon Yip, were important members of the BU team that defeated Miami University in overtime. For Wilson, the game was nice. But the post-game celebration was the big reward.
"After winning the national championship, we had a really, really good time as a team," Wilson said with a big smile. "We had a great group of guys who had been through a lot together. So after we won, we took advantage of it."
For Yip, the chance to win an NCAA title was one of the top moments in his 26 years.
"It was a great life experience," Yip said. "I think we're all still buddies from that team. It was the best experience of my life.""
