With the Big South Conference South Division crown on the line, the Coastal Caroline University men’s basketball team hosts a pair of home games to close out the 2013-14 regular season. Coastal currently sits in a three-way tie for first place in the division and needs a pair of wins this week to clinch the number one seed heading into the VisitMyrtleBeach.com Big South Conference Championships. CCU opens the two-game set tomorrow evening against Presbyterian. Coastal defeated the Blue Hose 84-72 earlier this season in Clinton. The game is presented by TD Bank.

Climbing the Coaching Ranks
• Head coach Cliff Ellis is one win away from tying legendary head coach John Wooden for career wins.
• Wooden won 664 games over 29 seasons, 27 of which were at UCLA where he won 10 NCAA Championships.
• With a win, Ellis will tie Wooden for 28th all-time in career victories.

Defensive Pressure
• Coastal currently leads the Big South in field goal percentage defense (40.8).
• CCU has held opponents at or below 40.0 percent shooting 12 times this season and is 11-1 in those contests.

• Freshman Elijah Wilson broke the CCU freshman scoring record and the freshman field goals made mark.
• Wilson has scored 465 points this season which breaks the record held by CCU Hall of Fame member Jack Leasure who scored 420 points during the 2004-05 season.
• Wilson’s 174 made field goals breaks the previous mark of 156 set by William Calvin during the 1984-85 season.

• Junior Warren Gillis is climbing in the Coastal Carolina record book for free throws made in a season.
• Gillis has currently knocked down 120 free throws this season which ranks him fifth on the single season charts.
• He needs just five more to tie Robert Dowdell for fourth all-time. Dowdell hit 125 free throws during the 1990-91 season.
• If Gillis hits 51 more free throws this season he will tie Dowdell for most all-time. Dowdell hit 171 from the charity stripe during the 1989-90 season.

Enanga Works Hard in the Classroom
• Sophomore forward Michel Enanga was named to the Capital One Academic All-District 4 Team as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America.

• Enanga carries a 3.57 GPA in computer science.
• Enanga is just the fourth student-athlete and sixth selection in Coastal Carolina men’s basketball program history following in the footsteps of Jack Leasure (2005-06, 2006-07, 2007-08), Logan Johnson (2009-10) and Sam McLaurin (2011-12).
