"Blue Jackets center Jeff Carter, who missed Friday's game at Edmonton because of a left ankle injury, is questionable for Tuesday's game in Montreal.

"He's feeling a lot better," coach Scott Arniel said. "He might be OK to practice (today), and we'll take if from there.

"I'm hoping he can play (against the Canadiens). I wouldn't say I'm expecting it, but I'm hoping."

Carter was injured in the latter stages of Thursday's 4-3 shootout win at Calgary but remained in the game, even taking part in the shootout as the Jackets' first shooter.

But he missed Friday's game and was held out of practice yesterday in St. Jovit, Quebec."
