"This Browns quarterback carousel has Brady Quinn seeing purple.
Quinn started against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 3 and was benched after falling behind, 20-0, in the first half. Now Quinn is expected to be exhumed as the starter when the Ravens come to Cleveland Browns Stadium on Monday night.
The official word should come Wednesday from coach Eric Mangini. ESPN.com reported two unidentified sources said Quinn "likely" will be Mangini's choice to kick off the rest of the season for the 1-7 Browns. This should be welcome news to the Ravens.
After they moved to 3-0 by dispatching the Browns, 34-3, the Ravens lost four of their next five games to hit their halfway mark at 4-4. Two of those losses were to division rival Cincinnati, which is the difference in the Bengals' 6-2 record. Cincinnati has a tiebreaker edge over Pittsburgh (6-2) for first place in the AFC North.
"We've played some good football and played some not-so-good football," said Ozzie Newsome, Ravens general manager. "With eight games to go, everything's still there in front of us." "
