With the Red Sox rotation somewhat in tatters, more than one fan has undoubtedly thought of one name. What about Clay Buchholz?

The rehabbing right-hander threw for a second straight day yesterday, though he has yet to do so off a mound. As the season's final three weeks tick away, Buchholz isn't giving up on 2011, but his chances of returning to the rotation appear increasingly remote.

"That's the $1 million question, I guess," Buchholz said. "I don't know. I'd like to be (a starter). That's what I've prepared my whole career for, to be able to pitch in the postseason, start games and help this team win. If me going out there and not being ready to do it is not helping the team, I don't want to do it. I want to do it to help this team win."
