Christian Ponder's season up for review

"Vikings quarterbacks coach Craig Johnson imagines Christian Ponder is in the head-shaking phase of his postseason evaluation.

"They go back, watch all their tape and figure out, 'Man, what was I doing?' " said Johnson, who, along with the rest of the Vikings staff, is coaching the Senior Bowl's North team this week. "That's pretty normal."

Ponder's rookie season was an amalgam of promise and curiosity, in which he threw for 300-plus yards one moment and was benched after a three-interception performance the next. In 11 games and 10 starts, Ponder completed 54.3 percent of his passes for 1,853 yards, 13 touchdowns and 13 interceptions. He finished the season with a hip pointer that affected at least two performances and a concussion on Dec. 24 against Washington. "
