"A day after 49ers tight end Vernon Davis guaranteed on a conference call with Kansas City reporters that San Francisco would beat the Chiefs on Sunday at Arrowhead Stadium, Todd Haley declined the chance to fire back.

"We are really focused on our task at hand, which is getting a little better each and every day," Haley said. "That's what I feel like we're doing. That's what ultimately will give us a chance to become a good team, hopefully sooner rather than later.
