Thibaut Courtois is not disappointed to have apparently been overlooked by Barcelona, as he was never interested in a move to the Nou Camp, according to his father.

The Chelsea goalkeeper, currently on loan at Atletico Madrid, has been linked with a permanent move to another top European side at the end of the season.

The Belgian international has been lined up as Petr Cech’s long-term replacement at Stamford Bridge, but remains keen to continue his development without playing second-fiddle to the Czech.

But Courtois’ father, Thierry, says a switch to Barcelona to replace the outgoing Victor Valdes was never on the cards, following reports the Catalan club have earmarked Borussia Monchengladbach’s Marc-Andre ter Stegen as their new number one.
