The 18-year-old, who featured in the Champions League clash against the Blues last week, has enjoyed a successful start to the season scoring three goals already in the Bundesliga.

Schalke sporting director Horst Heldt claims Chelsea are keeping a close eye on Meyer, but as of yet no official offer has been made.

"There is no official offer from Chelsea," the Schalke chief told Kicker.

"But I have heard of the interest."

Jose Mourinho was suitably impressed by Meyer's performance in last week's Champions League meeting between the two sides, in which Chelsea came out 3-0 victors.

Meyer highlighted his promise towards the end of last season after Lewis Holtby completed his January move to Tottenham.
