"An MRI exam Saturday revealed inflammation, but no tearing, in Julio Borbon's left hamstring. He was placed on the 15-day DL in what could be described as a best-case scenario for the Rangers.
To replace Borbon, the Rangers purchased the contract of OF Endy Chavez, who is playing center field and leading off today. Chavez, 33, has spent the entire season with Round Rock, batting .305 (39-128) with 8 doubles, 2 triples, 2 homers, and 17 RBI in 30 games for the Express.
To make room for Chavez on the 40-man roster, the Rangers had to move RHP Brandon Webb from the 15-day DL to the 60-day DL. The move is retroactive to the start of the season, meaning Webb is eligible May 30. He has not had a setback in his recovery and remains in Arizona working out with the extended spring training team."
