"It has been awhile since the controversial exchange between Charlie Villanueva and Kevin Garnett.
Villanueva took to Twitter to accuse Garnett of calling him a "cancer patient" during the Pistons' blowout loss in November. Garnett denied it, saying he called Villanueva "cancerous" to the Pistons and the league.
Villanueva stuck to his story, and then the Pistons blasted the Celtics in late December -- a game in which Garnett was injured early and wasn't a factor.
There has been little talk of the controversy since, but on Jan. 8 there was a small reminder of why Villanueva -- who has alopecia universalis, which results in hair loss -- was so passionate about the incident.
Before the Pistons topped the 76ers that night, Villanueva met Kevin Massey, a 16-year-old from Indianapolis who has been diagnosed with a rare type of brain cancer. Massey, a three-sport athlete, went from appearing to be perfectly healthy to fighting for his life a few months ago."
