Tuesday's deadline for the Pistons to use the NBA's new amnesty clause has come and gone, and many are surprised Charlie Villanueva is still on the roster.

The clause, created last winter, allows a team to rid itself of a bad contract or underperforming player, and Villanueva has appeared to become Public Enemy No. 1 with disgruntled fans.

But since the Pistons are expected to pay the remaining $16.6 million owed Villanueva over the next two seasons, the forward sees an opportunity to turn his career around.
