Charlie Adam is ready to extend his contract at Stoke beyond next summer as urges the team to mark their decade in the top flight with a trophy.

Adam, who is approaching the fifth anniversary of his arrival from Liverpool, wants to make sure one of the club's most successful eras is capped with silverware.

He wants that to happen sooner rather than later but, with only a year left on his current deal, he also wants to be part of the long-term plans.

"There's a year left and the club and myself have got a decision to make about what happens," said the 31-year-old midfielder. "I want to stay, I love it here. I want to stay beyond next summer, as long as I can.
