The Chargers lost a high-ranking executive when Jimmy Raye, director of player personnel, joined the Colts in January.

It appears they've found his replacement.

San Diego will add JoJo Wooden to its staff, sources confirmed Monday, with Wooden one of two from the Jets scouting department to earn promotions in a new role with the Chargers. An assistant director of player personnel in New York, Wooden is expected to fill Raye's role while Kevin Kelly, an area scout, will be the new director of college scouting, according to Newsday.

The latter position opened when John Spanos was promoted this year to executive vice president of football operations.

Wooden, a former outside linebacker at Syracuse, graduated in 1993 with a bachelor's degree in sociology. The 43-year-old has a heavy background on the pro side, spending the past 15 years with the Jets in roles that include assistant director of pro scouting in 2003 and director of pro scouting from 2004-2006.
