"Channing Crowder is WELL AWARE he's one of the least popular players on the Miami Dolphins roster. But this former Florida Gator standout also knows he's the most interesting member of the current team, and that's a subject that can not be debated.
That's one of the many reasons WQAM (560AM) gave Crowder, a six-year starter for the Dolphins, his own weekend radio show, which launched this Sunday, and will take place from noon to 2 p.m. each Sunday until his real job begins once the NFL ends this lockout.
"I know people hate me. When people hate on you you've got to be doing something right," Crowder said Sunday in the shows first hour.
Crowder, who contributed 39 tackles in an injury-shortened 2010 season, was all over the place in his first official show. But from one radio rookie (yours truly) to another, I've got to admit the two hour show, which was co-hosted by Zach Krantz, was entertaining and informative, which is the goal.
Crowder said he's training four days a week at FAU with other pros, and he spends two days a week working with former Dolphins linebacker Zach Thomas, who has served as his mentor for the past seven years."
