"Before Carson Palmer was traded to Oakland last Tuesday, one of the teams that was a favorite in the Palmer Sweepstakes was Seattle. During a conference call previewing Sunday's game against the Bengals, Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll said that they were interested in Palmer early in the process.
"We asked about it early on. I have great regard for Carson and wanted to know what their stance was and wanted to make sure we were at least on top of the opportunities and there was no opportunity at the time," Carroll said. "I thought it could be a possibility. With the background I had with Carson and the thoughts about him it was something we were definitely considering."
