Two months ago, nobody could have reasonably expected Carlos Santana to finish the season with at least 20 home runs.

But he hit two more against the Royals Sunday to run his total to 18.

"I didn't think he would be able to reach that,'' manager Manny Acta said. "I don't think it means much to him, because it's an individual accomplishment.''

Santana said as much.

"No, I'm not thinking anything about that,'' he said. "But the second half has been better, because I don't try too much [to pull the ball]. That's been my only change.''
