Carlo Ancelotti has given Thomas Muller’s suitors renewed hope of pulling off a January swoop by admitting the Germany international is unhappy at Bayern Munich.

Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal were all credited by SportBild with having made summer enquiries for the 27-year-old who was forced to play second fiddle to Robert Lewandowski last season.

Muller was again on the bench as Bayern kicked-off their defence of their Bundesliga title with a 2-0 win at Werder Bremen a fortnight ago, and Ancelotti admits he sympathises with the versatile forward’s current plight.

‘Thomas Müller is fit, in good shape and can play tomorrow. I thank everyone for their opinions but I don’t need any clues,’ said the former Chelsea manager.

‘I speak everyday with Thomas. It’s normal that a player is not happy if he sits on the bench. It was the same with me as player.
