The Montreal Canadiens are in quite a race in the Atlantic Division. It sure would help to have their No. 1 goalie back in action. That's why there's much excitement from the organization as Carey Price took shots in practice for the first time since succumbing to a lower-body injury after returning from the Olympics.

After backstopping his Canada to its second consecutive Olympic gold medal, Price tweaked a lingering injury in his second practice back. He has been on the ice a bit here and there over the last week, but Tuesday he was actually taking shots.

Price has stressed that he wants to be back to 100 percent before getting back into game action to make sure he is able to help the Habs in the most difficult part of the season.

Taking shots is a great sign that he's getting close to his return, though nothing has been announced in terms of when he'll be back in the lineup.
