"If Cardinals cornerback and punt returner Patrick Peterson needs any help finding his way around the Pro Bowl festivities in January, he'll have at least two veteran tour guides.
A rookie, Peterson was selected to the Pro Bowl as a kick returner. Strong safety Adrian Wilson and receiver Larry Fitzgerald were chosen as starters. Defensive tackle Darnell Dockett was chosen as an alternate.
Peterson, the fifth overall pick in the draft, tied an NFL record by returning four punts for touchdowns. By late in the season, opponents would tease him in warm-ups to take it easy on them.
"I get that all the time," he said. "They always say, don't do it on us, slow it down a little bit.'"
Peterson suffered an Achilles' injury last Saturday against the Bengals and doesn't know whether he will be able to play in the final game of the season on Sunday against the Seahawks.
He is optimistic, however, about playing in the Pro Bowl on Jan. 29 in Honolulu.
"We're honored to have three guys on our team named to the Pro Bowl, especially Larry and Adrian were both chosen as starters," coach Ken Whisenhunt said. "I think that's a tremendous recognition of what these players bring.""
