"Cardinals chairman Bill DeWitt Jr. and general manager John Mozeliak met with the agent for free agent first baseman Albert Pujols late Tuesday night, according to sources familiar with the process.

At this point,the Cardinals have not have modified last January's nine-year, offer of $198 million-$205 million.

The meeting between the Cardinals and agent Dan Lozano was the first of any substance between the two sides since Pujols ordered a halt to talks upon arriving at spring training last February. Tuesday's meeting occurred less than a week after Pujols and Lozano met with Miami Marlins owner Jeffrey Loria."
