"Although he turned to Rich Bartel late in Sunday's 23-7 loss to the San Francisco 49ers, Cardinals coach Ken Whisenhunt said John Skelton would make his fourth consecutive start Sunday if Kevin Kolb's injured right foot doesn't allow him to play.

Kolb, however, sounded very much like he plans to do everything he can to return to face the St. Louis Rams.

"I think we're at the point now, with the tape job they're doing on it, and the rehab, hopefully I can't hurt it enough to have a huge setback," Kolb said Monday. "My mentality and our mentality is I'm going to push it as hard as it can go and try to be out there."

Kolb hasn't been cleared to practice more than on a limited basis because of the injury, which includes a bad sprain and turf toe."
