"Cardinals strong safety Adrian Wilson isn't playing football yet, but that isn't stopping him from being playful.
Wilson smiled and joked with reporters after practicing on a limited basis Tuesday for the first time since suffering a torn biceps tendon Aug. 6. Wilson wore shoulder pads and helmet and participated in some individual drills and passing sessions but had no contact.
"Everybody excited?" Wilson asked. "Did anybody have any doubts? You? Maybe you? Anybody else?
"No, it's all good," Wilson added. "Just getting some rust off. We'll see where I'm at in September. Hopefully there are no setbacks. Everything is on the up and up."
The goal for Wilson has been to play in the season opener Sept. 11 against the Carolina Panthers.
He said returning to practice was good for his - and his teammates' - mental outlook.
"Training camp is such a grind, and whenever you have an injury, it kind of takes a toll on you," he said. "The guys are very excited, and I'm very excited as well.""
