The Washington Capitals made a minor move on Day 3 of the 2014 NHL Entry Draft, acquiring Winnipeg farmhand Eddie Pasquale in a deal that featured a swap of late-round picks.

Pasquale, 23, has spent his entire career in the Thrashers/Jets organization but has yet to make his big-league debut. He went 17-13-1 with AHL St. John’s last year, posting a 2.43 GAA and .920 save percentage but didn’t play the second half of the year due to season-ending surgery. Michael Hutchinson backstopped St. John’s in the Calder Cup playoffs, backstopping the IceCaps to the final.
