"The Capitals have assigned enforcer D.J. King, who has been a healthy scratch in all but one game, to the AHL's Hershey Bears. The move was made in an effort to get King more playing time, according to a team spokesman.

King asked Washington to put him on waivers last week in hopes that he would receive more playing time on another NHL club, but all 29 other teams passed."
