On a pitching staff filled with lots of potential, the one big free agent signing is the only one guaranteed a job.

MLB.com’s Brian McTaggart spoke with General Manager Jeff Luhnow about how the rotation was going to stack up, and his answer didn’t exactly clear anything up.

The Astros have also signed Jerome Williams, who could be used either as a rotation member or as a long reliever. The club will also look at Number One draft pick Mark Appel out of Stanford as he has been invited to Spring Training.
