Kootenay Ice forward and Montreal Canadiens prospect Tim Bozon, who contracted a form of acute bacterial meningitis late last month, is awake and out of intensive care at Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.

The Saskatoon Health Region on Tuesday updated the condition of Bozon, who is attempting to feed himself and speak.

Bozon was admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU) at Royal University Hospital March 1 with Neisseria Meningitidis. The 2012 third-round pick (No. 64) of the Canadiens had been in an induced coma since being admitted to the ICU.
