Marcus Camby said he expects to have options as a free agent. But after roughly six weeks with the Rockets, he considers them his first choice.

"I would like to be here, but I understand the NBA is a business," the center said. "A lot of suitors are going to be trying to reach out. This is where I want to be. So hopefully, we can make something work."

No playoffs, no gain for players

With his team having failed to finish among the top eight in the Western Conference, coach Kevin McHale rues the fact the Rockets won't get the valuable experience that comes with playing in the postseason.

"The frustrating part is we didn't finish the season off with what we had to do to get in the playoffs," McHale said. "We should be practicing, playing tomorrow and being excited to get in a playoff series and feel what that is like. We should feel the heat of going against one of the top seeds in their building. That's how you get better. Until you go do that, there's no experience like actually doing it."
