Mark Buehrle isn't going for a milestone career victory total. He is on the cusp of a nice achievement: 12 straight seasons with 10 or more wins.

After his third unsuccessful attempt to become the seventh pitcher since 1970 to do it, it's probably safe to categorize that 10th win as elusive. Including Monday's game, Buehrle's last two chances came against the Braves.

For the first time in 21 starts as a Marlin, Buehrle failed to complete five innings. He also matched his season-high for runs allowed (six) as the Braves cruised to an 8-2 victory at Turner Field.
