"Chip Kelly has opted to stay at the University of Oregon and will not be coaching the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Bucs general manager Mark Dominik said in an e-mail to The Tampa Tribune that the "Discussions with Kelly are off,'' and added, "It's become clear his heart just wasn't in it. He is happy in college. These things can happen with college coaches.''

The Bucs were in negotiations with Kelly, a source told the Tribune, and the team was hopeful a deal could be worked out in the next couple days with the two-time Pac-10 Coach of the Year."
