"The Bucks learned the bad news about Andrew Bogut's injury late Thursday afternoon.

The 7-foot center suffered a fractured left ankle in Wednesday's game at Houston and will be out indefinitely.

With a compressed 66-game schedule, it's possible Bogut could miss a huge chunk of the season or be sidelined the rest of the way. The regular season ends in late April.

Bogut returned to Milwaukee on Thursday and was evaluated by team orthopedic physician Michael Gordon, and a magnetic resonance imaging exam was done on his left ankle. The test revealed the fracture.

"It's a very unfortunate injury for Andrew," said Bucks general manager John Hammond. "Obviously we've been in this position before. Other people will have to step up.""
