Free-agent defensive lineman Desmond Bryant will sign with the Browns, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network and ProFootballTalk.com reported tonight.

The 6-foot-6, 311-pound Bryant would give the Browns another key piece to help them transition from a 4-3 defense to the 3-4 mutli-front scheme lead by new defensive coordinator Ray Horton. The Browns have plenty of tackles, but could use help at end.

Bryant, 27, had 36 tackles, including four sacks, and made eight starts last season. In 2011, he posted 35 tackles, including five sacks.

Last month, Bryant was arrested in Miami on a misdemeanor charge of criminal mischief. He allegedly entered a neighbor’s house inebriated and caused a commotion.
