"Former Browns quarterback Derek Anderson, released by the Browns on Tuesday, won't likely be welcome in these parts.
Anderson, who's carried a grudge against Browns fans for more than a year, let it rip Tuesday in an email response to the News-Herald, which sought reaction to his unceremonious contract termination. Anderson did not respond to several requests for comment from The Plain Dealer.
"The fans are ruthless and don't deserve a winner," Anderson wrote to the paper. "I will never forget getting cheered when I was injured. I know at times I wasn't great. I hope and pray I'm playing when my team comes to town and (we) roll them."
Anderson was referring to that fateful game against the Colts on Nov. 30, 2008, when he was on the ground writhing in pain from a torn knee ligament while fans at Cleveland Browns Stadium cheered. Anderson, who had gone 10-5 as a starter in 2007, could never overcome playing in place of Brady Quinn, and never got over the fans' snub."
