"In the loss to the Cardinals on Thursday night, Broncos cornerback Syd'Quan Thompson joined a rather extensive list of players who have suffered season-ending Achilles tendon injuries during the preseason.

Thompson tore his right Achilles running in the open field. He is one of at least 11 players in the NFL who have suffered serious Achilles injuries in this post-lockout preseason. The list includes Chiefs linebacker Brandon Siler, Browns punter Reggie Hodges and Lions running back Mikel Leshoure.

Cleveland linebacker Scott Fujita, like the Broncos' Brian Dawkins? a member of the NFL Players Association executive committee, said he is trying to monitor the number of Achilles injuries to see if the lockout played any part.
