"Broncos wide receiver Eddie Royal, who caught only two passes during the team's final three games this past season, is recovering from arthroscopic surgery on his hip.

Royal had the procedure done shortly after the season, and the best-case scenario is a five-month recovery. That would have Royal back on the field on at least a limited basis if the team has organized team workouts in May.

It is possible the recovery could stretch into the six-month range.

If there is no new collective bargaining agreement and the owners lock out the players, they will not participate in any offseason workouts until there is a new CBA."
