Eddie Royal's game Sunday in Oakland showed there always should be a place for spontaneity.

In a 38-24 victory over the Raiders, Royal became the first Broncos player in 29 years to score touchdowns on a reception and a punt return in the same game. Royal scored on a 26-yard reception and 85-yard punt return. Not since Rick Upchurch in 1982 had a Broncos player pulled off such a double score.

Neither of Royal's scores was game-planned. On his touchdown reception, Royal broke off his pattern and "sat" in an open area around the Raiders' 10-yard line. Tebow found him."
