Peyton Manning is so healthy he is healthier than last year.
Remember that as the Broncos' starters not named Manning go down with an injury seemingly day by day.

The latest significant injury at training camp occurred during practice Wednesday when starting right cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie was carted off the field because of a high left ankle injury.

Signed as a free agent in March to a $5 million salary Rodgers-Cromartie is the second-highest-paid Denver defensive player. Left cornerback Champ Bailey is No. 1 at $10.75 million.

Rodgers-Cromartie is expected to be out two to three weeks but by initial appearances it could have been worse.

"As I've mentioned before it's part of the game"
coach John Fox said. "We are going to have even more injuries as we go through camp. It is part of getting ready to play a pretty combative game and it gives other guys opportunities."

Shudder to think but more injuries might be striking Dove Valley as the Broncos must be closing in on their unofficial quota. They lost starting center Dan Koppen to a season-ending knee injury Sunday. Koppen was re-signed in June after the team's first choice at center J.D. Walton suffered a serious setback in his recovery from left ankle surgery.
