"Jim Harbaugh and the 49ers were putting the squeeze on the Buccaneers late in Sunday's game when wide receiver Josh Morgan got caught in the vise.
Morgan suffered a broken bone in his lower right leg when he was tackled and went down awkwardly at the Tampa Bay 1-yard line. The 49ers' leading wide receiver this season had surgery Monday, and the rest of his season is in doubt.
The 49ers hope he can return later this year but will make that determination based on how he emerges from the procedure. For now, the team will consider adding reinforcements to a position at which Michael Crabtree, Ted Ginn and Kyle Williams are the only healthy members."
