Devils goalie Martin Brodeur skated for the first time Tuesday since spraining his MCL in Feb. 6 win in Montreal, Jacques Lemaire said.

"He was on the ice today for a little while and came off," Lemaire said, "so he should go back on tomorrow."

In a housekeeping move, the Devils on Tuesday placed Brodeur on injured reserve retroactive to Feb. 6. He is already eligible for activation, although he's expected to miss another week.

Johan Hedberg has won the three most recent games Brodeur has missed, allowing four goals, and stands 9-10-2 compared to Brodeur's 13-19-2 record.
