The Predators didn't make it through their first two games unscathed, announcing Monday that defenseman Anthony Bitetto and forward Miikka Salomaki will miss significant time because of upper-body injuries.

Bitetto, who will be out four to six weeks, left Friday's season-opening victory against the Blackhawks following a second-period fight with Blackhawks forward Jordin Tootoo. The 26-year-old fell hard to the ice at the end of the bout, needing assistance to the locker room.

Salomaki will miss six to eight weeks with what could be a hand injury. With Nashville on the penalty kill during the second period of Saturday's loss to Chicago, Blackhawks defenseman Brian Campbell's slap shot struck Salomaki in the right hand as he attempted to block it.
