The Milwaukee Brewers formally announced on Friday that the club has plans to “significantly” extend the protective around Miller Park. The renovations to the stadium will be completed in time for the Brewers’ 2018 regular-season home-opener, which will be played on April 2 against the Atlanta Braves.

“The Brewers are currently working with engineers and vendors on specifics related to the project. The extension of the netting will now run to the outer edge of the dugout,” the team said in the statement.

The move to extend — or implement — extra netting and improve Miller Park’s overall safety comes in the wake of a scary moment at Yankee Stadium from mid-September.
