"If anything goes wrong for starter Yovani Gallardo in the early going of Game 5 of the National League Divisional Series on Friday, Milwaukee Brewers manager Ron Roenicke said he wouldn't hesitate to throw right-hander Zack Greinke into the fray.

Greinke started Game 2 and surrendered eight hits, including three home runs and four runs in five innings. He would be pitching on his normal rest of four days.

"Zack would be available and not just if 'Yo' isn't pitching well," said Roenicke during his off-day news conference at Miller Park on Thursday afternoon.

"Who knows, he could get a line drive back off a leg or something, and he's got to come out. So, Zack will be available (Friday)."

Asked if Greinke was told to prepare accordingly, Roenicke said, "There's been a conversation with him, yes.""
