On the same night he returned to the Milwaukee Brewers' lineup, Ryan Braun had to be lifted from the game after aggravating his sore right Achilles'.

Braun did so while stealing second base in the sixth inning, and with the Brewers trailing the Pittsburgh Pirates, 8-2.

He came out of the game an inning later, and is being listed as day-to-day by the Brewers.

"Kind of the same thing – turned a little sideways (on the slide)," said manager Ron Roenicke. "Achilles', got his hip a little bit because of the weird slide. We'll see how he is tomorrow. We need to have him in the lineup. We're banged up, and we need that bat there."

Roenicke said Braun is sliding a little bit differently because of the Achilles' issue, and wound up aggravating it despite the fact he's trying to protect it.

Braun took the field for the seventh -- albeit gingerly -- before coming out of the game in the eighth after a discussion with the team's medical staff. He was replaced by Norichika Aoki.

"We looked at him, trainer went down and looked at him," said Roenicke. "That slide got him a little bit. I don't know if it was so much that he was going to come out, but more just, 'Hey, I messed it up again, and have them look at it.' "
