He came advertised as a goal-scorer, a guy with speed and size who could step into the top six of the Vancouver Canucks and make an impact.

It has taken some time, but David Booth is beginning to meet those lofty expectations.

Booth scored a brilliant goal on a power move down the right wing and then contributed in the six-round shootout as the Canucks kicked off a three-game homestand Monday night with a 2-1 win over the Phoenix Coyotes at Rogers Arena.

"I feel strong on the puck again and well-balanced out there," Booth said. "It's fun coming to the rink when the team is winning and you are playing well. I am really enjoying it. It was a process, but I am really excited to be a Canuck now and I think it's showing."
