"Carlos Beltran wore his familiar No. 15 for the Giants last night, and he can thank manager Bruce Bochy for that.

Bochy surrendered his No. 15 to Beltran, who went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts in the Giants' 4-1 victory over the Phillies last night at Citizens Bank Park, and it didn't even cost the outfielder a watch.

"I'm just happy he was willing to pass me number 15. I made a joke about it, 'Does he want the watch with diamonds or without diamonds?' I'm waiting for his response," said Beltran, who was dealt by the Mets to the Giants Wednesday for right-handed pitching prospect Zack Wheeler. "They worked out a deal with the Mets, and it makes perfect sense for the Mets to get what they wanted and the Giants were looking for a bat."

Bochy said he was not looking for a watch."
