"The Charlotte Bobcats will use their open roster spot to re-sign forward Dominic McGuire in time for Friday's road game against the Los Angeles Lakers.

In a separate move, the Bobcats plan to waive Sean Marks, and use that roster spot to sign 6-5 guard Garrett Temple to a 10-day contract. Temple, in the Development League after stints with Milwaukee and San Antonio, will likely join the Bobcats early next week.

McGuire gets the spot vacated when the Bobcats waived Morris Peterson. The Bobcats had to waive three players - McGuire, Derrick Brown and Sherron Collins - to make trade-deadline deals involving Gerald Wallace and Nazr Mohammed.

The Bobcats hoped to re-sign Brown, but he was claimed off waivers by the New York Knicks. McGuire's familiarity with the system and his ability to play multiple positions worked in his favor to return to Charlotte."
