Bobby Jenks and Alexei Ramirez unavailable to Chicago White Sox again

"The White Sox were considerably short-handed entering their showdown Tuesday night with the American League West-leading Angels.

Closer Bobby Jenks went to Rush University Medical Center before batting practice Tuesday in an effort to alleviate his kidney stone problems.

Jenks has pitched only once since suffering pain stemming from the kidney stones Thursday.

Manager Ozzie Guillen didn't think Jenks would be sidelined beyond Tuesday night, but Jenks was in obvious pain before leaving the clubhouse.

Also, shortstop Alexei Ramirez missed his fifth consecutive start because of a sore right ankle. Ramirez fielded grounders four hours before the game but was moving gingerly.

Guillen ruled out putting Ramirez on the 15-day disabled list but said he wouldn't rush him back. Guillen said he has been satisfied with the play of Jayson Nix in place of Ramirez.

Peavy probe: Contrary to a report in the San Diego Union-Tribune, the Sox aren't paying the cost of six to eight trips for Jake Peavy's family from San Diego to Chicago.

The next step in the newly acquired right-hander's recovery from a right ankle injury involves a throwing session Wednesday in San Diego. He's scheduled to throw a bullpen session before Saturday night's game against Cleveland.

Tribute to Buehrle: The Sox kicked off Mark Buehrle Appreciation Series with a video replay of Buehrle's perfect game and an unveiling of three photos commemorating the moment."
